District Demographics

The Labrador School Board operates 20 schools in providing a wide range of educational

services to 5000 k-12 students in 14 communities in western, coastal and central Labrador. 

The Board operates in a culturally diverse jurisdiction which includes the majority of the

Province's First Nation's people.  The Board is committed to promoting life long learning,

global citizenship and critical and creative thinking through quality instruction, continuous improvement, consultation, accountability and partnerships.

 

Vision

The Labrador School Board is a learning organization with safe environments which 

graduates productive citizens.

Mission

The mission of the Labrador  School Board is to increase student achievement by 5% in English/Language Arts, Mathematics and Science in underachieving schools in order to

increase graduation rates.
