Natuashish is a new
community created so as to relocate the residents of Davis Inlet to a mainland
area. It is a community of 650
people and it is nestled in the woods adjacent to
The population is
predominately Mushuau Innu people.
Recreational activities involve mainly outdoor pursuits such as fishing,
hunting and trapping, and snowmobiling. Hockey
and volleyball are two popular indoor sports.
The dominate church presence is Roman
Catholic. Economic activity centers
around government organizations and private
businesses.

Marine:
Marine Atlantic coastal boat originating in Cartwright, NL (July -
November). Any personal belongings should be shipped approximately two

Major
Household items are available on site which include: washer, dryer, refrigerator,
stove, beds and dressers.
Groceries:
Teachers in the past have placed food orders for the full year with grocery
distributors. However, most items are available at the one local grocery
store.
Clothing:
Rubber boots, rain gear, warm winter
hat, mitts, boots, jacket, snow pants, face mask, goggles. Clothing
items rated for - 70 or lower are recommended.
Snowmobile:
It is not essential for travel, but in the past many teachers have used
snowmobiles for recreation and trips to neighboring communities during winter.
